4 Steps To Glowing, Hydrated Skin

Hydrating your skin is one of the most beneficial steps you can take for your skin health (Why?). The top layer of your skin needs to reach its dew point to be completely hydrated. There’s a little more to it than slapping a cream on every day. Maintaining the dew point, maintains hydration. This is one of the most anti ageing things you can do for your skin.

1. Soak your skin

I use Janesce Soaking Drops twice a day to ensure my skin is constantly at its optimum level of hydration. 3-4 drops of herbal concentrates will both hydrate and treat your skin. They will increase the skins ability to absorb the active ingredients of your next products applied by up to 50%. Both morning and night, soak the skin to directly hydrate, then lock the water in with a mist and concentrated moisturiser. Soak longer if you are new to this soaking step or if your skin is especially dehydrated. The longer the better.

Add two to three drops of Janesce Soaking Drops to a basin quarter filled with warm water. Immerse you soaking cloth in the water, and wring out the excess water gently (the warm moisture is what we need). Hold the soaking cloth over your face gently but firmly, pressing the moisture into your skin for 20 seconds. Repeat 3-5 times (the more the better).

2. Lock it in

If you don’t lock in this water with a facial oil or concentrated moisturiser, you run the risk of further dehydrating your skin and getting trapped in the cycle of a weak and dehydrated skin. If your moisturiser is not concentrated enough and contains too much water to active ingredients, it may not be doing the job of ‘locking it in’.

Immediately spray your skin with the Janesce Floral Mist.

Use a very small amount of appropriate Janesce moisturiser and press into the damp skin of your face and neck.

3. Drink plenty of water

Although the top layers of your skin can’t access this water. Your body and skin need to be hydrated from the inside too. You need to drink enough water to hydrate the deeper layers of your skin. Add a slice of lemon, cucumber or mint leaves to your water for extra taste. You can also drink water in the form of herbal teas such as green tea, peppermint tea, chamomile tea - these are all supportive of your digestive system.

Starting your day with half a lemon squeezed into a glass of warm water about 20 minutes before breakfast will kick start your day & your body.

4. Eat clean

Always try to encourage a healthy and clean diet with your skin care regime. Our diet and lifestyle are reflected in our skin’s health. Your skin is the last organ of your body to receive nutrients. That makes it one of the first places to show imbalances or deficiencies. It makes sense to then say, the nutrients (or lack of) we put into our bodies plays a massive role in the health & condition of our skin. Do you implement any of these steps into your daily routine? Which do you think you need to work on?

One of the most important nutrients we need for skin health, are essential fatty acids (EFA’s). Our Bestow Beauty Oils are our go-to for all skin types. We think everyone should be on an oil. Not only will they help give the skin a healthy glow, they will also build skin resilience, support healthy hormone production, reduce redness, improve the quality of oil in your skin (not increase it!) and support the transformation of the skin when dealing with skin disorders like acne, rosacea, eczema and sensitive skin.

Take 1 Tablespoon a day of Bestow Beauty Oil; mixed into food, smoothies or salad dressings for easy absorption.
